Where to play 4-Card Poker in the US

Showing 12 of 102 venues

4-Card Poker is simply another name for Four Card Poker. Some casinos use the shorthand label, but it refers to the same house-banked poker game where you make your best four-card hand against the dealer. For the full rules, strategy, paytables, and where to play, see our detailed Four Card Poker guide. You'll find live tables at most major properties. See our full US casino directory for venue contact details and hours.

4-Card Poker and Four Card Poker are the same game. If you see 4-Card Poker listed on a casino floor or website, it means Four Card Poker — a house-banked game created by Roger Snow and marketed by Shuffle Master. The game uses a standard 52-card deck and the unusual four-card hand ranking system, where a flush outranks a straight and there are no full houses. For the full breakdown, see our Four Card Poker guide.

How to play 4-Card Poker

  1. Place an Ante and an optional Aces Up side bet.

  2. You receive five cards. The dealer receives six cards, with one face up.

  3. Make your best four-card hand from your five cards.

  4. Raise 1x-3x your Ante or fold. Folding loses your Ante and Aces Up bet.

  5. The dealer reveals their hand and makes their best four-card hand.

  6. The dealer qualifies with a pair of 2s or better. If the dealer does not qualify, your Ante pushes.

Is 4-Card Poker the Same as Four Card Poker?

Yes. 4-Card Poker is an alias for Four Card Poker. Some casinos use the abbreviated name on their floor signage or digital game listings, but the rules, paytables, and strategy are identical. You are playing the same game regardless of which name appears on the felt. The game has also been marketed under the name Crazy 4 Poker, which is another licensed variant with some rule differences — but 4-Card Poker always refers to the standard Shuffle Master version.

  • Is 4-Card Poker the same as Four Card Poker?

Yes, 4-Card Poker is simply an alternate name for Four Card Poker. The rules, strategy, paytables, and house edge are identical. Some casinos use the shortened name on signage, but the game on the table is the same.

Editorial Strategy

Strategy & etiquette for 4-Card Poker

  • Raise 3x with a pair of 10s or better. Raise 1x with a pair of 2s through 9s.

  • Fold if you have less than a pair of 2s. Never chase with a high-card hand.

  • Four-card hands rank differently than five-card hands. A flush beats a straight in four-card rankings.

  • The Aces Up side bet pays on a pair of aces or better. It is a separate bet from the main game.

  • Compare paytables across casinos. The four of a kind and straight flush payouts can vary.

  • See the full Four Card Poker guide for detailed strategy charts and payout comparisons.

Four Card Poker Basics

You place an Ante bet and receive five cards face down. After looking at your cards, you decide to raise (1x-3x your Ante) or fold. If you fold, you lose your Ante. If you raise, the dealer reveals their six cards and makes the best four-card hand. The dealer must qualify with a pair of 2s or better. If the dealer does not qualify, your Ante bet pushes and your raise bet pays at 1:1. If the dealer qualifies and you win, your Ante pays 1:1 and your raise bet pays 1:1. If the dealer qualifies and wins, you lose both.
