Deuces Wild Hold'em Fold'em takes the Ultimate Texas Hold'em structure and introduces wild cards: all four deuces in the deck substitute for any card. The game uses the same escalating raise structure as UTH — 4x pre-flop, 2x on the flop, 1x on the river — but the wild deuces dramatically increase the frequency of strong hands. Flushes, full houses, and four of a kind appear far more often, and the dealer's hand strength is similarly inflated. The paytable is adjusted downward to account for the increased premium-hand frequency. Available at 4 US casinos, Deuces Wild Hold'em appeals to UTH players who want higher variance and more frequent big-hand payouts. You'll find live tables at most major properties. See our full US casino directory for venue contact details and hours.
Deuces Wild Hold'em Fold'em is Ultimate Texas Hold'em with a wild card injection that changes the texture of every hand. Four deuces in a 52-card deck means roughly one in every 13 cards is wild, which means about one in three hands contains at least one deuce between your hole cards and the five community cards. The result is a game where you see more flushes and full houses per session than in a month of standard UTH. The trade-off is that the dealer sees them too, and the paytable is adjusted to reflect the higher frequency of premium outcomes. If you enjoy standard Ultimate Texas Hold'em but want more action and bigger hands, Deuces Wild Hold'em delivers. For another wild card poker variant, see DJ Wild Poker.
Place equal Ante and Blind bets. An optional Trips side bet pays on your final hand strength, including wild card combinations.
You receive two hole cards and the dealer receives two hole cards. All deuces in play are wild for both you and the dealer.
Pre-flop: bet 3x or 4x your Ante, or check. Wild deuces mean hands with a deuce should bet aggressively.
The flop is dealt (three community cards). If you checked pre-flop, bet 2x or check. Community deuces are wild for the entire table.
The turn and river are dealt. Make a 1x Play bet or fold. The dealer qualifies with a pair or better.
The dealer hand resolves. The Blind bet pays a bonus on a straight or better, adjusted to account for wild card frequency.
The game follows the same structure as Ultimate Texas Hold'em. You place equal Ante and Blind bets, plus an optional Trips side bet. You receive two hole cards. The dealer receives two hole cards. The community cards — flop (3 cards), turn (1), river (1) — are dealt in sequence. At each stage, you can bet or check: 4x pre-flop, 2x on the flop, 1x on the river. All four deuces are wild and can substitute for any rank and suit.
The paytable is compressed compared to standard UTH because wild cards make premium hands far more frequent. The Trips paytable typically pays 2:1 for three of a kind (down from 3:1 in standard UTH), 3:1 for a straight, 5:1 for a flush, 7:1 for a full house, 25:1 for four of a kind (down from 30:1), 35:1 for a straight flush, and 40:1 for a royal flush. The Blind bet bonus pays on a straight or better with similarly adjusted payouts. A five of a kind (four wild deuces plus a matching rank) pays the top premium on most tables. For comparison, standard Texas Hold'em Bonus and WPT Heads-Up Hold'em use the same Hold'em format without wild cards.
Deuces Wild Hold'em has a higher frequency of premium hands due to wild deuces, but the paytable is adjusted downward to compensate. The overall house edge is slightly higher (2.5 to 3.5 percent vs 2.2 percent for UTH). The variance is higher — you will see more flushes and full houses per session, but the dealer will too. The wild deuces also create a wider pre-flop raising range, making the game more aggressive.
Bet 4x pre-flop with any hand containing a deuce. A single deuce is a wild card that can complete flushes, straights, and premium hands — pre-flop, it is the strongest card in the deck.
Bet 4x pre-flop with any pair 6s or better, any Ace-King, or any two suited face cards. Standard UTH strategy thresholds apply with a wider range due to wild cards.
After the flop, bet 2x with any pair, any deuce, any flush draw, or any open-ended straight draw. Wild cards make draws significantly stronger since a deuce can complete both flush and straight draws simultaneously.
After the river, make the 1x Play bet with any deuce in your hand regardless of other cards. A wild card alone is enough to beat the dealer's qualifying threshold.
Deuces in the community cards benefit both you and the dealer equally. Do not assume a community deuce favors you — the dealer uses it too.
Compare the Trips paytable before playing. The wild card adjustment means the payouts are lower than standard UTH Trips, but the frequency of hitting is much higher.

The presence of wild deuces fundamentally changes the pre-flop strategy. In standard UTH, you selectively bet 4x with strong starting hands. In Deuces Wild, any hand containing a deuce is a mandatory 4x bet. A deuce is a wild card that can morph into whatever the flop demands — a flush card, a straight connector, or a pair improver. The pre-flop expected value of a hand with a deuce is dramatically higher than the same hand without one. Even a 2 and a 7 offsuit, which would be a check or fold in standard UTH, becomes a strong raise hand because the deuce can complete any combination.
On the flop, bet 2x with any pair, any deuce, any flush draw, or any open-ended straight draw. The wild deuces mean that four-flush draws and open-ended straight draws hit significantly more often than in standard UTH, which makes them worth pursuing. On the river, bet 1x with any deuce in your hand — a single wild card is enough to form a pair against the dealer's qualifying hand. The most common misplay in Deuces Wild Hold'em is treating the game like standard UTH and failing to bet aggressively with deuces. A deuce is the most valuable card in the deck, and you should treat it that way.
Standard UTH with no wild cards. Lower house edge (2.2 percent) but less frequent premium hands. The most popular house-banked poker game.
Five-card stud with deuces and joker wild. Different format (stud vs Hold'em) but same wild card appeal. Higher variance.
WPT-branded heads-up Hold'em with no wild cards. Dealer qualifies with a pair of 4s. Trips bonus side bet available.
Simpler Hold'em with fixed 1x bet and bonus on starting hands. No wild cards. Lower skill ceiling than Deuces Wild.
Deuces Wild Hold'em Fold'em is available at 4 US casinos. It is found in the specialty pit alongside Ultimate Texas Hold'em, Mississippi Stud, and other house-banked poker games. The game is most common in Las Vegas and at larger regional casino properties.
Check the Trips paytable before you sit. The wild card adjustment means paytables vary between casinos, and the difference directly impacts the overall return. Browse our US casino directory to find venues near you with Deuces Wild Hold'em.
Yes. A deuce is the strongest card in the deck in Deuces Wild Hold'em. Any hand containing a deuce should bet 4x pre-flop. The deuce can substitute for any card after the community cards are revealed, creating flushes, straights, and premium hands that would not be possible otherwise. Even a 2-7 offsuit becomes a strong pre-flop hand.
