Dragon Bonus Baccarat Commission Free combines two popular baccarat innovations: the Dragon Bonus side bet (paying on natural wins and large-margin victories) and no-commission Banker betting (Banker pays even money, except when winning with a 6 which pays 1:2). This combination keeps the pace moving without commission tracking while offering the Dragon Bonus side bet that can pay up to 30:1 on a non-natural win by 9 points. You'll find live tables at most major properties. See our full US casino directory for venue contact details and hours.
Dragon Bonus Baccarat Commission Free solves the biggest friction point in baccarat: the 5 percent commission on Banker wins. Instead of tracking commission chips, every Banker win pays even money -- with one exception. When Banker wins with a total of 6, the payout drops to 1:2 (win half your bet). This rule swap eliminates commission tracking at the cost of a slightly higher house edge on Banker (roughly 1.45 percent versus 1.06 percent with commission). The Dragon Bonus side bet remains available on both Player and Banker, adding the signature margin-based payout structure that makes standard Dragon Bonus Baccarat popular.
Place a bet on Player, Banker, or Tie. You may also place a Dragon Bonus side bet on either Player or Banker (not both).
Standard baccarat rules apply. Two cards are dealt to each side. Face cards and tens count as zero, aces as one, only the last digit counts.
Standard third-card drawing rules apply. If either side has a natural 8 or 9, the hand ends.
Banker wins pay even money on most totals, but a Banker win with a total of 6 pays 1:2. Player wins pay even money. Tie pays 8:1.
The Dragon Bonus side bet pays if your chosen side wins. Payouts increase with margin of victory, from 1:1 to 30:1.
The Dragon Bonus bet loses if your chosen side loses or ties. The bet resolves immediately after the hand.
The no-commission Banker rule works as follows: Banker wins pay even money on any total except a winning 6, which pays 1:2. A bet of $20 on Banker that wins with a total of 6 pays $10. All other Banker winning hands pay even money ($20 on a $20 bet). Player wins pay even money. This rule structure keeps the Banker edge at roughly 1.45 percent, which is higher than the standard 1.06 percent after commission but eliminates the need for commission tracking.
The Dragon Bonus side bet pays based on the margin of victory. A Banker Dragon pays: natural 9 or 8 at 1:1, win by 9 points (non-natural) at 30:1, by 8 points at 10:1, by 7 points at 6:1, by 6 points at 4:1, by 5 points at 2:1, and by 1 to 4 points at 1:1. The Player Dragon uses the same payout structure but carries a roughly 9.4 percent edge because Player wins are less frequent. The Dragon Bonus is independent of the no-commission rule and resolves normally regardless of whether the Banker 6 rule triggers. If you have a Banker Dragon bet and Banker wins with a 6, the Dragon Bonus pays according to the margin paytable, while the main Banker bet pays 1:2.
The Banker bet with the Banker 6 paying 1:2 rule carries a house edge of roughly 1.45 percent. This is higher than the standard Banker bet with 5 percent commission (1.06 percent) but eliminates commission tracking.
Bet Banker by default. The no-commission Banker bet with the 1:2 payout on Banker 6 carries a house edge of roughly 1.45 percent.
The Banker 6 rule increases the house edge compared to standard commission baccarat (1.06 percent) but eliminates commission tracking and math.
For the Dragon Bonus side bet, always choose Banker Dragon (roughly 2.5 percent edge) over Player Dragon (roughly 9.4 percent).
The Banker Dragon side bet is one of the best-value baccarat side bets. The roughly 2.5 percent edge is competitive with some main game bets.
Compare the Banker Dragon paytable to the standard commission version. Some commission-free tables use slightly different Dragon Bonus payouts.
Keep the Dragon Bonus bet small relative to your main Banker wager. The main bet has a lower edge.

The optimal strategy mirrors standard Dragon Bonus Baccarat with one change: the Banker bet edge is roughly 1.45 percent instead of 1.06 percent. This is still better than the Player bet (1.24 percent) and far better than the Tie (roughly 14 percent). Bet Banker on your main wager. The convenience of no-commission payouts is worth the modest edge increase for most players.
On the Dragon Bonus side bet, always choose Banker Dragon. The roughly 2.5 percent edge on Banker Dragon is four times lower than the 9.4 percent edge on Player Dragon. This differential is the largest of any baccarat side bet. The combination of no-commission Banker with Banker Dragon creates a complete betting strategy: main bet on Banker for the base win, Banker Dragon for the margin bonus. Compared to EZ Baccarat, which uses a Banker push on 3-card 7 to remove commission, Dragon Bonus Commission Free uses the Banker 6 half-pay rule and adds the Dragon Bonus side bet. The choice between the two depends on whether you prefer the Dragon Bonus side bet (Dragon Bonus Commission Free) or the Dragon 7 and Panda 8 side bets (EZ Baccarat).
Dragon Bonus side bet with 5 percent commission on Banker. Banker edge is 1.06 percent. More widely available than the commission-free version.
No commission via Banker 3-card 7 push rule. Banker edge is 1.02 percent. Dragon 7 (40:1) and Panda 8 (25:1) side bets.
Smaller table, lower minimums, dealer handles all cards. May offer Dragon Bonus or EZ Baccarat rules. Faster pace.
Mid-size table with higher minimums. Some venues allow card squeezing. May offer Dragon Bonus or no-commission rules.
Dragon Bonus Baccarat Commission Free is available at select US casinos that offer baccarat. It is less common than standard Dragon Bonus Baccarat but is found at properties that emphasize no-commission baccarat formats. Larger casinos in Las Vegas and Asian gaming markets are your best bet.
Before you sit, confirm that the table uses the Banker 6 half-pay rule (not the EZ Baccarat push-7 rule) and check the Dragon Bonus paytable. Browse our US casino directory to find venues near you that offer baccarat variants with side bets.
The Dragon Bonus pays based on the margin of victory: natural 9 or 8 pays 1:1, win by 9 points pays 30:1, by 8 points pays 10:1, by 7 points pays 6:1, by 6 points pays 4:1, by 5 points pays 2:1, and by 1 to 4 points pays 1:1.
