About Chewelah Casino
Chewelah Casino opened in 2008 at 2555 Smith Road in Chewelah, Washington, in Stevens County roughly 45 minutes north of Spokane along US-395. The property is owned and operated by the Spokane Tribe of Indians and sits on tribal land. The Washington State Gambling Commission acts as the regulator of record. The minimum gambling age is 21, higher than the 18-plus standard at most Washington tribal casinos and consistent with the property’s smoke-free-area programming and Sun Club marketing.
The casino is one of two Spokane Tribe gaming venues in Washington — the larger Spokane Tribe Casino in Airway Heights covers the Spokane metro, while Chewelah serves Stevens County, the upper Colville Valley, and visitors heading north toward the Canadian border at Frontier. For visitors comparing regional venues, the Chewelah casinos, Washington casinos, and tribal casinos directories are useful starting points.

Games on the Floor
The 425-machine slot floor anchors the gaming offer at Chewelah Casino, with the 6-table pit covering Blackjack, Spanish 21, and Video Poker. Electronic Keno fills out the non-table option. The room does not run a live poker spread; Spanish 21 is the closest thing to a poker-style variant on the floor. For blackjack players coming from Spokane, the table minimums tend to sit friendlier on weekday afternoons than the larger Airway Heights floors.

The northern Spokane Tribe room
Chewelah Casino works as the northern half of the Spokane Tribe's gaming program: smaller, quieter, with a 21-plus floor and a steadier weekday rhythm than the Airway Heights flagship. The 425-machine floor and 6-table pit are sized for Stevens County and US-395 corridor traffic rather than weekend destination crowds. Treat the larger Spokane Tribe Casino in Airway Heights as the metro option and Chewelah as the local-friendly stop on the way north.
Amenities
Amenities are deliberately compact at Chewelah Casino. The property runs an on-site restaurant and free self-parking, with smoke-free programming and ADA-accessible amenities noted in the directory data. Detected feature data points to a hotel adjacency and an RV park in the property’s broader campus, along with golf and concert programming tied to the Spokane Tribe’s wider hospitality footprint. Verify current amenity availability through the property’s promotions and events page.

Quieter, friendlier, and on the way home
I live in Colville and Chewelah Casino is on the drive home from Spokane. Smaller than the Spokane Tribe place in Airway Heights but the minimums on blackjack are nicer in the middle of the week. Restaurant is fine and the staff knows the regulars. The 21-and-over rule keeps the floor quieter than I expected for a Saturday night.
