About Wizards Casino

Wizards Casino is a non-tribal card room at 15739 Ambaum Boulevard SW in Burien, Washington, opened in 2011 and currently operated by Maverick Gaming LLC. The property carries the Maverick portfolio playbook: a small but well-run floor with a poker room and a tight set of carnival-style table games. Washington State Gambling Commission rules license the room with a minimum age of 18, which is the standard floor age for state-licensed card rooms.

Burien sits south of Seattle proper between SeaTac airport and the Puget Sound waterfront. The casino draws from a dense ring of South King County neighborhoods and from travelers staying near the airport, putting it inside the same competitive band as other Maverick rooms across the Seattle and South Sound markets.

Table Games and Poker Spread

The 10-table game pit at Wizards Casino runs a focused mix of carnival and Asian-style games: Baccarat, Blackjack, Pai Gow Poker, and Spanish 21. The selection is tuned to the demographics of the South King County market and to the broader Maverick card room playbook of pairing house-banked carnival games with a small poker room.

Games Available

The 5-table poker room runs No Limit Hold’em and Spread Limit Hold’em cash games. The Spread Limit variant remains a Washington card-room signature game, sitting between Limit and No Limit structures, and Wizards keeps it on the menu rather than running No Limit exclusively. For blackjack and poker game guidance, see our dedicated pages.

Poker at Wizards Casino — Expert answers

  • What poker variants does Wizards Casino spread, and what are the typical stakes?

Wizards Casino runs 5 poker tables with a focus on No Limit Hold'em and Spread Limit Hold'em. Stakes lean toward low-to-mid micro brackets common at Washington card rooms — expect $1/$2 and $1/$3 No Limit cash games as the workhorse table, with Spread Limit running when there is demand. The room is part of the Maverick Gaming portfolio, so the dealing standards and house rake structure match Maverick's other Washington rooms.

Amenities and Visit Practicalities

Amenities at Wizards Casino are deliberately spare. The property runs an on-site restaurant and offers free self-parking. There is no hotel, no spa, no sportsbook, and no slot machines — Washington law restricts slot-style gaming to tribal venues, so card rooms like Wizards focus exclusively on table games and poker. The directory marks the room’s site security with SSL and encryption mentions, and the primary digital storefront is the Facebook page since the property does not run a dedicated website.

A small Maverick room that does the basics well

Wizards Casino is not trying to be a destination. It is a 15-table South King County card room with carnival games and a small poker spread, operated by Maverick, and the operating model is consistent with the rest of the Maverick Washington portfolio. If you live in Burien, SeaTac, or Tukwila and want a quick weekday session of Spanish 21 or low-stakes Hold'em, this room earns its keep. Travelers wanting bigger tables or sportsbook access should look at the larger tribal floors.

Location, Hours, and Regulation

The casino is at GPS 47.461, -122.336 on Ambaum Boulevard SW, a 10-minute drive from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Operations are open daily. Maverick Gaming LLC owns and operates the property; the Washington State Gambling Commission acts as the regulator. Sportsbook activity is legal in Washington under the tribal retail framework only, which means card rooms like Wizards cannot offer sports wagering.

Solid local room, great Spanish 21

Burien local here, this is my regular weeknight room. The Spanish 21 game is the best in the area and the dealers are pros. Poker room is small but the No Limit table runs reliably on Fridays. Wish there was a hotel or sportsbook here, but for a quick 2 to 3 hour session, you cannot beat the convenience.
