This card room is closed

Normandie Club at 3612 West 6th Street in Gardena, California is permanently closed. The property opened in 1947, owned and operated by Larry Flynt’s, and ran under a California Gambling Control Commission / Bureau of Gambling Control card-room license for decades in the heart of the Los Angeles County card-room corridor. The phone at (213) 263-2709 and email at info@thenormandieclub.com served guests during operations.

At its peak Normandie Club ran a 53-table floor — a large-scale California card room by any standard — with a notably deep baccarat and Asian-facing game spread that reflected Gardena’s position as one of the densest card-room markets in the country. The property’s website at thenormandieclub.com and its Facebook and Instagram pages remain online as historical records.

Games — what was on the floor

Normandie Club carried eight game types — a spread built around one of the deepest baccarat lineups in the California card-room market.

The baccarat lineup was the floor’s calling card — Dragon Bonus Baccarat (commission-free with a bonus on winning by a natural or by 4+ points), EZ Baccarat (no commission on banker wins), and Panda 8 Baccarat (side bet on a three-card banker 8) gave Gardena’s large LA County card rooms player base three distinct ways to play baccarat. Pai Gow Poker and Pai Gow Tiles served the Asian-facing table-game segment alongside the baccarat tables.

Buster Blackjack added a dealer-bust side bet with escalating payouts on multi-card busts. Pure Blackjack and Caribbean Stud Poker rounded out the non-baccarat side of the floor. The poker room ran 24 tables with No Limit Hold’em. All games operated on the California player-banked model — third-party proposition players covered settlement on every table.
