About Wind River Casino
Wind River Casino opened in 2008 on the Wind River Indian Reservation in Riverton, Wyoming, owned and operated by the Northern Arapaho Tribe. The property is one of four gaming venues on the reservation and the largest by machine count, making it the anchor casino for anyone visiting the reservation or passing through the central Wyoming corridor on WY-789. The Wyoming Gaming Commission regulates operations under the tribal-state compact, with a minimum gambling age of 21.
Riverton sits at the edge of the reservation roughly 25 minutes from Lander and about 90 minutes from Casper. The casino draws both reservation residents and travelers on the US-26 and WY-789 routes through Fremont County. For a property in a town of roughly 11,000 people, the 800-machine floor and 9 table games offer more variety than the population alone would suggest — the casino serves as a regional draw across a wide, sparsely populated part of the state.

Games on the Floor
The gaming floor at Wind River Casino splits between a slot-heavy main area and a compact but functional table game section. All games operate under Class III tribal gaming rules, which means the slot machines are true Vegas-style slots rather than Class II bingo-based machines — a meaningful distinction for anyone who has played the lottery-style terminals common at some tribal properties.
The nine table games cover the essentials: blackjack in standard and single-deck variants, craps with standard odds, roulette (American wheel), three-card poker, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em. Minimums stay approachable on weekday afternoons and climb on Friday and Saturday evenings when the floor fills with players coming in from Lander, Shoshoni, and the reservation communities. The single poker table runs Texas Hold’em cash games rather than tournaments — the action is casual and you can usually get a seat within 20 minutes on a weeknight.
Games Available
On the slot side, the 800 machines are distributed across the main floor with denominations from penny slots to $5 and higher video poker and video keno machines. The machine mix favors newer titles from the major manufacturers, and the floor layout is open enough that you can move between high-traffic section banks and quieter perimeter machines without feeling crowded even on busy nights. Progressive jackpots link across the floor.
Property Amenities
For a casino in a town where restaurant options are limited after 9 PM, Wind River Casino’s on-site restaurant matters more than a restaurant would at a property in a larger city. The dining outlet covers breakfast through dinner, and the quality is above what you would expect from a small-floor casino — locals come here for meals even when they are not playing. A retail shop sells convenience items and Northern Arapaho-made goods, which gives the property a sense of place that chain-affiliated casinos lack.
The property carries a resort classification and self-identifies as Wind River Hotel & Casino, though the hotel component operates separately from the main gaming building. Meeting and event space is available for weddings and community functions. Smoke-free sections are maintained within the gaming floor. Self-parking in the main lot is free with ample space.

Rewards Club and Promotions
The Wind River Casino Rewards Club is the property’s player loyalty program, offering membership points earned on slot and table play, tier-based progression, and member-only promotions. Registration at the players club desk takes a few minutes and comes with a sign-up bonus — if you plan to spend more than an hour on the floor, joining is the difference between earning something back on your play and leaving value on the table.
The promotions calendar runs slot tournaments, seasonal cash drawings, and tier-specific events that rotate throughout the month. Social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram post current promotions, and the property’s events calendar tracks upcoming tournament dates.

Strengths
5- 800 slot machines — largest slot floor on the Wind River Reservation
- 9 table games including craps and roulette (uncommon for a rural tribal casino this size)
- Open 24/7 — only all-night gaming option within an hour-plus radius
- On-site restaurant serving breakfast through dinner
- Rewards Club loyalty program with tiered benefits and regular promotions
Watch-outs
4- Single poker table — no tournament schedule; Texas Hold'em cash games only
- No attached hotel rooms; overnight visitors need off-site lodging
- No sportsbook on property
- Limited table game variety compared to regional commercial casinos
Good casino in the middle of Wyoming
Stopped here on a drive through from Casper to Jackson. Did not expect much but the slot floor is legit — 800 machines is way more than you would think for a town this size. Table minimums were reasonable on a Thursday night and the craps table was actually running with a full crew, which is rare for a small casino. Restaurant was solid — had the burger, no complaints. Only downside is no hotel attached, so you have to drive to a motel in Riverton afterward. Would come back if passing through again.
