About Little Wind Casino
Little Wind Casino is a small gaming venue at 685 WY-132 in Ethete, Wyoming, set inside the Wind River Indian Reservation in central Fremont County. The property runs as a 24/7 casino under oversight from the Wyoming Gaming Commission, with a minimum gambling age of 21. The casino sits roughly 15 minutes west of Lander and about 20 minutes south of Riverton, putting it inside the same regional gaming corridor as the larger Wind River Casino but with a meaningfully different scale and feel.
Ethete itself is a small reservation community, and Little Wind Casino has long served as a local-first gaming room rather than a tourist destination. The 170-machine floor and 5 table games make this one of the more compact venues on the Wyoming casinos map, but compact also means accessible: the floor is easy to navigate, the staff recognizes regulars, and you will not wait long for a seat on a typical weeknight. The casino is regulated under the tribal gaming framework that the Wyoming Gaming Commission applies across the Wind River Reservation, with sportsbook activity treated as legal at the state level but not offered on this property.

Games on the Floor
The gaming mix at Little Wind Casino is concentrated around three categories: blackjack, slot machines, and video poker. Blackjack anchors the live table experience across the 5-table pit, and minimums stay approachable on weekday afternoons. Slot machines and video poker terminals make up the bulk of the 170-unit floor, with denomination ranges that lean toward penny and nickel play rather than higher-limit banks. There is no live poker room and no craps or roulette here, so if those are dealbreakers, Wind River Casino in Riverton is the closer fit.
Games Available
For a property this size, the floor reads as deliberately edited rather than thinly stocked. Video poker is treated as a first-class option rather than an afterthought, which matters in a market where Wyoming players often prefer the lower house edge of full-pay video poker games over standard slot reels. The compact footprint also makes it easy to switch between machines and the blackjack pit without losing your bearings.
Amenities and Visit Practicalities
The amenity list at Little Wind Casino is short and practical. The property runs an on-site restaurant, offers free self-parking, and stays open around the clock. There is no attached hotel, no spa, and no convention space, which keeps the operating model focused on gaming and a kitchen. For overnight visitors, lodging is typically picked up in Lander or Riverton within a 15 to 25 minute drive.

A small, local-first room that knows what it is
Little Wind Casino is not trying to be a destination, and that is exactly why locals like it. The 170 machines and 5 tables make for a quiet, low-friction gambling night. If you are passing through the Wind River Reservation and you want to play blackjack without driving into Riverton, this is the venue that gets the assignment. Travelers looking for poker rooms, sportsbooks, or hotel packages should plan a stop elsewhere.
Location and Regulation
The casino sits at 685 WY-132 with GPS coordinates of 43.023, -108.775, dropping you at the front of the property. The Wyoming Gaming Commission acts as the regulator of record. Sportsbook activity is legal at the Wyoming state level, but Little Wind Casino does not currently operate a sportsbook on premises, so wagering on sports is not part of the visit.

Quiet, easy, no nonsense
Drove up from Lander on a Tuesday night. The place was busy enough to feel alive but I still walked right onto a blackjack table at a low minimum, which never happens at the bigger casino in Riverton. Restaurant was open and the burger was fine. No frills, no hotel, no poker room, but the slots and video poker mix is solid for the size. Will be back.
