West Palm Beach is in Palm Beach County approximately 70 miles north of Miami and 175 miles south of Orlando via I-95. The N Congress Avenue address is in central West Palm Beach, accessible from I-95 via Okeechobee Boulevard. PBKC serves the Palm Beach County gaming market as a year-round poker destination. Live greyhound racing ended under Amendment 13 in 2021; the facility continues under its pari-mutuel license for poker and simulcasting.
At 60 tables, PBKC is one of the largest poker rooms in Florida by table count. Its diverse format spread — which includes 5 Card Stud and Seven Card Stud 8 or Better — is historically exceptional for a Florida card room.

Poker Room: 5 Card Stud, Seven Card Stud 8 or Better, and 60 Tables
PBKC’s 60-table poker room spreads 5 Card Stud, Omaha, Omaha 8 or Better, Seven Card Stud 8 or Better, and Texas Hold’em. Sixty tables makes PBKC one of the largest poker rooms in Florida and the dominant poker destination in the Palm Beach County market.
5 Card Stud is the simplest and oldest form of poker played in American casinos — each player receives five individual cards over multiple betting rounds with no draws and no community cards. The best five-card hand wins. 5 Card Stud was the predominant casino poker format from the 19th century through the 1960s before being largely displaced by Seven Card Stud and subsequently by Texas Hold’em. Its continued availability at PBKC reflects the room’s historical commitment to stud game formats.
Seven Card Stud 8 or Better (also written Stud/8 or Seven-Stud Hi-Lo) is a split-pot version of Seven Card Stud in which the best high hand and the best qualifying low hand (eight-low or better) share the pot. Players receive three down cards and four up cards over five betting rounds with no community cards. The stud structure requires tracking opponents’ exposed cards and the cards that have been folded — a different strategic skill set from Hold’em or Omaha. Omaha 8 or Better is the community-card equivalent of the same hi-lo split structure.

Palm Beach County's 60-table poker room since 1932 — 5 Card Stud and Seven Card Stud 8 or Better at PBKC
Palm Beach Kennel Club is the dominant poker destination in the Palm Beach County market: 60 tables with a format spread that includes 5 Card Stud and Seven Card Stud 8 or Better — formats that have largely vanished from US commercial poker rooms. For serious stud game players in Florida, PBKC is one of the few venues where these formats are reliably available.
