Central City sits in Gilpin County at roughly 8,500 feet of elevation in the Front Range foothills, approximately 35 miles west of Denver via I-70 and Colorado 119 or via US-6 through Clear Creek Canyon. The Main Street gaming corridor in Central City concentrates its licensed casinos within a compact historic district.
